EMERGENCIES

In the Vancouver area, you can obtain fast emergency assistance by dialing 911 on the telephone.

911 gives you direct access to the fire department, police department and ambulances.

It is not necessary to speak English when you call 911.  The 911 operators can speak most languages.

You do not need a coin to call 911 at a pay phone.  911 calls are free.

All emergency situations should be reported to Vancouver English Centre staff.
